1. Who we are
LicenGo UK ("LicenGo", "we", "us") provides an online platform to help learners prepare for the UK driving theory and hazard perception tests, and to connect learners with driving instructors. This policy explains what personal data we collect through our website and mobile app, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
Account information: when you sign up we collect your name, email address and password (handled securely by our authentication provider, Supabase). If you sign in with a third-party provider, we receive the basic profile information that provider shares with us.
Study data: your progress through mock tests, hazard perception clips, study plans and question history, so we can track your results and tailor your study plan.
Instructor and booking data: if you search for or contact an instructor, we collect the details needed to connect you, such as your location area, messages exchanged, and reviews you leave.
Payment data: if you purchase a subscription on the web, our payment processor Stripe collects and processes your card details directly — we do not store full card numbers on our servers. On our mobile apps, purchases and free trials are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, who share purchase and subscription status with us so we can activate your access.
Referral data: if you use or generate a referral link, we record which account referred you so we can apply any related rewards.
Technical data: device and browser information, IP address, and your language preference, which we store in a cookie and in your browser's local storage so the site loads in your preferred language.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to create and manage your account, deliver and track your study progress, process payments and manage subscriptions and trials, connect you with instructors, operate our referral and partner programmes, keep the service secure and working correctly, and communicate with you about your account, purchases or support requests.
4. Payments
Web payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Mobile purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google. These providers act as independent controllers of the payment details you give them and have their own privacy policies. We only receive confirmation of payment, subscription status and the minimum billing information needed to grant or manage your access.
5. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the platform (such as Supabase for authentication and database hosting, and Stripe, Apple and Google for payments), with instructors you choose to contact, and where required by law or to protect our rights and users.
6. Cookies and local storage
We use a small number of essential cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your language preference (licengo.lang / licengo_lang). We do not use these to track you across other websites.
7. Data retention
We keep your account and study data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal, accounting and tax obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time, subject to those obligations.
8. Your rights (UK GDPR)
If you are in the UK or EEA, you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
9. Children's privacy
Our service is intended for people who are learning to drive and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our service or legal requirements. We will update the "Last updated" date above whenever we do, and, where changes are significant, we will notify you through the app or by email.
11. Contact us
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, please contact us through the support options available in your account, or by email at the address listed on our website.
